About Me
I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at Johns Hopkins University. My research interests encompass regulation and governance, contentious politics, and food and agrarian studies. My dissertation traces the production, distribution, and presentation of coffee from the mountainous Los Altos region of Chiapas, Mexico, to import-export firms and upscale specialty cafés in Seoul, South Korea, elucidating the formal, informal, and sometimes illicit processes that govern the global industry.
My work has been funded by the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship, the Johns Hopkins University Kelly Miller Fellowship, and the Johns Hopkins University Departments of Political Science, East Asian Studies, and Anthropology. I completed my Master of International Policy degree and BA in International Affairs at the University of Georgia.
